Enjoying the Fall Season

Fall brings us crisp morning air and shorter daylights. As enjoyable as it is for some, it can also affect our emotions and our energy level. Here are some self care tips on enjoying the season of falling leaves and crisp morning air.

Protect Yourself From Germs

Reduce your chances of getting sick by washing your hands often. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Regularly clean frequently touched things and surfaces, such as doorknobs, countertops, computer keyboards, refrigerator handles, and phones will also help reduce germs. And don't be a germ-spreader - If you are sick, stay home from school, work, and public places so you won't be spreading your illness to others.

Bring Fall Indoors

Diffusing essential oils can help prevent the spread of germs, with an added benefit of bringing of pleasant scent to your environment. Some of our favorite Fall essential oil blends include Cinnamon and Sweet Orange, Rosemary and Clove Bud, Pine and Lime. Other essential oil such as Patchouli, Basil, and Fir can help cleanse the air. Bergamot, pine needle, chamomile essential oil is also considered as Yin oil with nourishing properties.

Cover up

The cooler and dryer weather in fall often increases the recurrence of chronic illness such as bronchitis and asthma. Try covering your head and neck with a hat or scarf to protect your meridians. Meridians are like invisible highways of your body where the Yin and Yang Qi (energy) flows in and out of certain organs, keeping them vital and healthy. When the Bladder Channel is exposed or most vulnerable, the wind/cold/pathogen enters in your body, causing imbalances and weakens your immunity.
