Scientific Name: Passiflora
Fun Fact: Passion Flower used to be approved as an over-the-counter sedative and sleep aid in the US, but was withdrawn in 1978 by the FDA because of the lack of evidence and studies done on the plant.
However, many people and herbalists still use this plant to help with anxiety, depression, and insomnia. Many recent research results also have shown effectiveness in managing general anxiety disorder. (see link in resource section below)

Habitat
Passion Flower is a vine native to southeastern United States, Central, and South America found in thin woods, open fields and even on roadside fencerows. This plant prefers fertile, well-drained soil but can also thrive in heavy clay-like soils.
